Last weekend found me in LA, specifically to view the Geffen's exhibit "Ecstasy" (well worth checking out),but I was also able to go to Chinatown to view the festivities.

Pictured here is a display by the main entrance to a fairly popular restaurant in LA's Chinatown:

If you can't see it well, the doll is holding in her right hand some sort of woven frying pan with a crab glued to it; and in her left hand is a chicken in a basket. The doll's hair is also silver and she is wearing slippers.

An alley-type thing with a couple of stores and a few hep art galleries.

Clearly, the best saved for last embodied here. This was in front of a bank and was apparently their idea of pulling out all the stops on decorations for the new year.
