P.S., I had to listen to this song on a loop two days a week for 2 months when I worked in an art gallery. |

| Why Pre-Columbian and Oceanic Art is Amazing |
[Nov. 19th, 2006|03:01 pm] |

( Two more )
From the (somewhat) recently opened de Young Museum in Golden Gate Park, which is notable only for its excellent Pre-Columbian art and otherwise terrible curation of the permanent collection, whose organization must of been something like "hey, let's put a bunch of similar stuff in one room! Let's have a room called 'Angry Art'!" Although this exhibit on Ruth Asawa looks pretty delightful. |

| Aesthetics Meme |
[Apr. 29th, 2006|11:08 pm] |
colinmarshall: I've just devised what I call an "aesthetics meme." Here's the deal: I've posted images of six things that best reflect my personal aesthetics. I'd like you to do the same. As long as they have some deep, life-shaping visual appeal to you, the pictures can be of anything you want: products, pieces of art, cars, musical instruments, places, people -- no auto-goatse, preferably -- what have you. As soon as you do this, link to it -- or post the images themselves -- in the comments. I get to every filter on my friends list irregularly (at best), and I really do want to see what you guys can do with this. As a super extra lucky happy family bonus, I'll link to the best of 'em here.

( Whatever is inside? )
I don't know who this "Mr. Belvedere" fellow is, but he is undoubtedly the best thing about Mario on Ice, barring Mario's faux-Brooklyn accent. It looks like he cobbled the costume together on his own! |

| "Go Marxist Go" |
[Mar. 21st, 2006|11:08 pm] |
This graffiti is scrawled in the men's bathroom by the KCSB studio. It reads: "HOMELESS HOMELESS Come here to make you BONELESS." The writing above it is light, but I think it says "Go Marxist Go."
